Where to start Selenium

i want to learn selenium .. I have more than 3 years of experience in manual testing .. but now i am fed up with the manual testing and thinking to move on to automation and found selenium is the good one to go .. but  i have 0 knowledge in java .. i did not even understand what is a platform or API or abcd of programming .. but now i feel to learn automation no matter what since i am not liking my work any more ..  let me know whether i can able to learn with no knowledge in programming ... there are many materials and books when we surf thru internet ..I have no clue where to start .. i have no idea how the process of learning to go ..

Programming is core of automation hence you would have to begin with a programming language in which you want to carry out automation. It seems that you are more keen on java then you should begin with java. I had a post on how much java is enough for Selenium here -

On a different note, Any stream may turn boring because of repititions. Even automation :-)
