Test Estimation

Test estimations(for manual testing)
hi every one, i have been looking for some knowledge sharing on test estimations, we have been using use case point estimation... but while surfing on the net on testing blogs, i am not sure that market is going with this... i want to make a thread on this and discuss about test estimations and how everyone is going with... i at some times identify the high level requirements and low level requirements and based on the test cases for each of the high level and low level requirements i estimate the time needed to execute those test cases and estimate the time required. Is this the right way to estimate the project time duration for test activities??? kindly share your experiences and your processes awaiting for the responses

hi, i have surfed enough... what ever posted on those sites are not discussing in detail.... as i have mentioned earlier, the istqb foundation materials and are discussing about use case point method and a few other...
i have used use case point method and when the project is shifting more to agile methodology i have decided to estimate time for test activities based on high level and low level requirements... and in most of the cases i fall a short of time while doing so??
i want to know how the rest are estimating test activities on agile kind of projects... ???
