Primary Job Responsibilities:
Defines, develops, maintains, and executes test scripts for a product feature or sub systems.
Actively participate in software development lifecycle (scope, design, implement, validate, deploy, test), including design and code reviews, test development, test automation, etc.).
Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and Customer Quality team members to understand requirements and create innovative testing solutions with respect to functionality.
Independently executes test plans and test scripts based on planned project schedules and in accordance with QA methodology.
Proactively escalates issues to the Management and alerts the project team on potential impact to test schedule.
Records and tracks defects uncovered during the execution of tests scripts. Drives defect towards resolution; proposes and designs retest cases, scripts and data.
Provides timely and accurate status defect information and appropriate metrics to facilitate QA reporting.
Spends most of the time developing test code and testing, and efficiently produces elegant, clean tests with no unnecessary complication or abstraction.
Build automation scripts so manual testing can be minimized
Develop reusable tools for manipulation of large data sets
Ability and passion to write code in a high level programming language like Java and highly motivated to learn internal PayPal technologies.
Job Requirements
Core Java knowledge is required
Good programming skills in one of the following programming languages: Java, C++ (Preferably Java).
Selenium / TestNG test automation frameworks development experience.
Strong and Extensive exposure to design test strategy and test plans for complex applications
Experience with Software Testing Methodologies to certify Service oriented architecture products
Experience with scripting languages like Perl/Python/Ruby/Shell is required
Experience in Unix based Testing environment
Experience applying different Test Frameworks with any Notable test automation tools (QTP/Test Complete/Selenium/any other)
Experience in testing data-driven applications using an industry standard RDBMS (Oracle, DB2), including strong SQL skills
Experience in Number of Years 7+
