Installing STF on windows

I tried to install using your guidance on this page: http://www.seleniumtests.com/2013/10/installing-selenium-tests-framework.html. It did not go well because I'm using a windows environment and the only place I seem to be able to run the mvn.bat command is from the bin directory of apache maven. When I try that it fails because it is looking for a pom file.
Any idea what I need to do in a windows environment?

You should execute mvn command from the root location  where you have downloaded the project.
It looks like you have not set up maven. You can follow following video tutorial to know more on maven and its set up - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zecIdoJG4v4
